Capacity Building

  • JKSPYM is committed to provide services related to treatment and prevention of drugs and alcohol use. We have also provided support in the form of: training, informational and educational material, supervision and mentoring, surveys, assessments and monitoring of ongoing services. A system of checks and balances is inbuilt to ensure that our clients receive quality services.
  • In Leh, we have worked in Kargil area and with more resources we will expand our services to population in Leh. Only our organization has been able to sustain and work in the current geopolitical climate of J&K.
  • In the three decades of our existence, JKSPYM has nurtured community relationships and built multiple teams of community workers, outreach workers, and peer educators that encompasses the entire length and breadth of the region and addresses the regional, linguistic, and ethnic diversity of J&K. Our staff members are versed in all local languages and dialects. Our outreach worker was also awarded as the Best ORW in the country, 2017 by the Cabinet Health Minister.
  • 1997 – JKSPYM initiated and completed the DFID sponsored Healthy Highway Project.
  • Initiated and completed a Peer Led Intervention Project sponsored by DFID to estimate size and practices of substance use population.
