Research and Survey

• JKSPYM has been the state partner for the National Survey on Extent and Pattern of Drug Abuse in India. In our survey, we identified more than 25000 injecting drug users in 7 districts of J&K. We were able to produce comprehensive data due to our local community networks.
• Initiated and completed a Mapping Exercise of High Risk Groups in J&K for National AIDS Control Organization (NACO) that included:
• Injecting Drug Users (IDUs)
• Men having sex with men
• Female sex workers
• Truck drivers and migrants
• 2000s – JKSPYM conducted a survey on Drug Trafficking in Border Areas that informed UNODC ROSA 2004 Report
